The Parent-Teacher Organization for IMO/IMA aims to enhance and support the educational experience of our school by fostering relationships among the school community, parents, and teachers. We also strive to improve the school environment through volunteer and financial support.
Innovation Montessori PTO's mission is to support the school's objectives and promote a sense of community. Becoming a PTO member is a great way to get connected and stay involved. Parental involvement is vital to the school's success and hence the success of our children.
PTO Stands for Parent Teacher Organization! The PTO is led by an Executive Board that includes a President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, and IMO/IMA Chair. PTO activities are also overseen by a number of different standing committees and committee chairs.
Nominations for the next year’s board are accepted in April each year, and in May, the board for the upcoming school year is voted upon. Officers are elected for a term of one calendar year (beginning July 1st and ending on June 30th of the following year) by the general PTO paid members. An individual may not serve more than three consecutive years as an officer.
The newly elected Executive Board meets at least once between July 1st and the first PTO meeting of the upcoming fiscal year for the purposes of preparing a balanced budget proposal, school calendar, and to identify fundraisers to be utilized to support the proposed balanced budget. During the school year, there are at least quarterly PTO board meetings and monthly PTO general member meetings.

PORTUGUESE
I'm Kristen, proud mama of three wonderful IMO kiddos, lover of organized chaos, firm believer that coffee solves most problems, and someone who genuinely enjoys bringing people together. Since joining IMO in 2021, I've found so much joy in finding little ways to help our community feel even more connected and believe the best communities are built one small act of kindness at a time.
By day, I work in hospitality helping hotels create better experiences for their teams and guests. At heart, though, I'm simply someone who loves building relationships, solving puzzles, and turning big ideas into something people can actually enjoy.
I remain incredibly grateful to be part of the IMO community and excited to help create even more opportunities for every family to feel welcome, connected, valued and at home.
